I’m a graphic designer and art director who’s always loved glass. I’m fortunate to live in Austin, Texas, where there is an amazing teaching studio and a growing number of talented artists. I try to employ good design in my pieces and interesting colors regardless of technique and direction.
As I work with different glass concepts, what I learn in my studio affects my design work and makes it more interesting. I’ve been able to attend kilnforming residencies at Pilchuck, North Lands Creative Glass in Scotland, and most recently, at Bullseye Santa Fe. The dramatic high desert of New Mexico has inspired a new body of work based on abstraction of the environment.
My series of landscapes “Plaza Blanca, New Mexico: Investigations” was juried into the 2016 Bullseye Emerge/Evolve exhibition along with work by artists from 16 countries. In early 2017 a panel from the series, second from the left in the top row, was chosen by the Corning Museum of Glass for inclusion in New Glass Review 38, where each year 100 works are selected from around the world to represent the best new ideas that are emerging in the world of art glass.
We are located in beautiful Austin, Texas, home to Helios Fused Glass Studio.
